The Hope consisted of three clay containers, plantings, a table and water containers.
Could you please water the containers, if they seem to be dry. You can pour water to the gap, or trickle the water on the surface of the container. I have set three ceramic containers on the table. I put plant seeds in the containers and added moss culture on their surface. I left them on the table and set off to other lands. The success of the plantings depends on the summer weather and the encounters with the other species and the environment. I hope that the plants will flourish. If we are lucky, after a few weeks the containers get green and bloom.
The starting point for the installation is the idea of an unequal world that we are living in. The circumstances which we are born into, effects inevitably how we do in life. Unequality generates competition, fear and hatred. I think about the joy of lending a hand. I think, that as long as we have a chance to help each others, we hold up the hope for a better world. The Hope was exposed in Etätoivo summer exhibition 2017 in Glass and Ceramics Center Kuu, Mallusjoki, Finland.
