Kana (The Hen), 2013. 270 x 420 mm. Raku clay, chicken wire, steel bar, iron board.

Hens were my pets and friends when I was a kid. I formed the sculpture by using photos as a model. I used to have then hen named Friday in my arms and I utilized this muscle memory to find the right size and shape for the sculpture. I put it to the cage, as a reference for how limited living space the hens have in a battery cage henhouse.
